Since there are only four 7s in a deck the chances of the next cards being a 7 is small. An ‘inside straight flush’ is a hand where the elements of the inside straight all share a suit. For example, 3♦-4♦-6♦-7♦ could be completed by any five to make the straight, but only the five of diamonds will make the straight flush. A double inside straight flush is a three-card hand, rather than a four-card hand, which has two elements of the straight flush missing. 4♠-6♠-8♠ is a double inside straight flush it needs the 5 and the 7 of spades to become a completed straight flush hand. There are two elements needed to complete a double inside straight flush. An example is a hand containing 5♣-7♣-9♣. The players need to find the 6♣ and the 8♣ to complete the straight flush. A double inside straight flush is a hard hand to complete, requiring two specific cards to be found in a single two-card draw.
The outside straight is nothing but refers to a poker hand of cards which has four consecutive cards but does not have the first and the last one. In this case, players miss the chance of completing a set of five cards because of the missing element. Let’s take an example if you have a hand which looks like this: 4, 5, 6, 7, Q, then it’s an outside straight. The sequence is incomplete as you can see the run of 4 cards disjointed with the 5th card breaking the pattern. This series could either be joined by a 3 on its left side or a card with a value of 8 on the right to complete the straight. Outside straight can be used by players to improve their hand by exchanging one or more cards for fresh ones. Now that you know that an outside straight refers to the incomplete straight of 4 cards, it means that you need a final card to be fitted at either end to hit a winning streak. For the winning hand, you will have to improve your hand on either the turn or via the draw so that you can have a hand with which you can call for a showdown.
